During the meeting the goals and outcomes of this meeting were discussed and the teachers started to share their ideas about the lesson plans. The project coordinator informed the teachers about the issues we had with the previous lesson plans. Discussion among Teacher Experts started in the afternoon where they discussed the outcomes, methodologies and lesson plans of the previous meetings. During the event the teachers discussed the invention of nuclear fission and its use in atomic weapons but also its use in producing energy worldwide. Another topic was the differences between sonar and radar and the ways they helped during WWII but also in the times of peace. The next day the teachers prepared a list of inventions and technological advancements which were developed. After our visit of Distomo the expert teacher workshop was planned where the teachers involved the ideas from the visit in the preparation of the first lesson plan. After lunch the teachers were working on the lesson plan focusing on wartime medical advances which also became available to the civilian population, leading to a healthier and longer-lived society. On Wednesday the teacher – experts were working on the lesson plans all day long and they chose the topic of Enigma code. The lesson plan contains excerpts from the movie Enigma code and the students will be able to understand the way how to create encode and decode the codes. On Thursday the Expert teachers had a meeting with a nun about the period of WWII and it was followed by a lesson plan preparation involving the ideas from the visit in the lesson plans. The teachers prepared a questionnaire and a Kahoot game about Distomo and about Lake Plastiras for the students. On Friday the teachers were finishing the 3 lesson plans and afterwards they piloted one of the lesson plans in the class. All the lesson plans will be piloted at each participating school in April and May and the teachers created an evaluation questionnaire for the students. All the lesson plans will be available on the school websites and on the platform of results.
