Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils in Mouzaki, Greece
The short -term exchange of students in Greece was focusing on Cooperation with the regional institutions representing survivors of WWII. Our students had to cooperate with the local regional institutions in their own countries and they worked on a pre-work where they had to prepare information in forms of presentations about their regions and the everyday life of the local people during WWII. During the first day we were warmly welcomed by the hosting organisation in Greece, Mouzaki. After the headmaster´s speech the students from each participating country introduced their school, town, region and country. In the afternoon the students presented their cooperation with the regional archives and institutions and they presented the lives of local people during WWII via Genial.ly, Canva and Prezi. After the presentations the participants had a guided tour at school and in Mouzaki. The next day we visited Delphi - the Archaeological site - Museum - Stadium and in the afternoon we visited the Museum of Distomo where we had a briefing and workshop about the massacre of Distomo during WWII. After the workshop we visited the Mausoleum of Distomo. The whole workshop and visit had a devastating impact on all of us as the massacre was still so vivid in the atmosphere of this museum. After the visit of the museum we visited the Bridge of Gorgopotomatos and had a briefing about one of the most major acts of resistance in Europe. On Wednesday our students were divided into workshops and they were working in four mixed teams on workshops. Two teams were creating a board game and two teams were creating book hunting games. All the outcomes were created in genial.ly and were focusing on WWII and they processed the information gained during the previous day. Thursday was dedicated to the visit of Meteora. We visited the Holy Monastery of Stefanou and had a briefing by an English-speaking nun about the period of WWII. In the afternoon we visited Trikala, where we visited a museum of music where we were focusing on everyday lives of people during WWII. And our next visit was to Lake of Plastira where the rebel airfield was operated during the WWII. On Friday we completed the outcomes of the teams’ projects and the students presented these project outcomes by participation of the teams at Book Hunting and Board Game. The winner students were awarded with prizes. During the closing ceremony the hosting school prepared us a theatre performance about our three-year cooperation and a presentation of our week-work. All the participants got certificates of participation and the short-term exchange of students ended with a lunch and farewell party with traditional dances from each participating country. All the outcomes are available on the school websites and in the platform of results.
