On Sunday morning, it was time to say goodbye, which was the hardest and most emotional part of the entire stay. Our students enjoyed the whole week to the fullest thanks to the wonderful families who accepted them with love and took care of them as if they were their own children. On behalf of our students, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for everything!!! :)

V nedeľu ráno nadišiel čas rozlúčenia, ktorý bol najťažšiou a najemotívnejšou časťou z celého pobytu. Naši študenti si celý týždeň naplno užili aj vďaka skvelým rodinám, ktoré ich s láskou prijali a starali sa o nich, akoby boli ich vlastné deti. V mene našich študentov z celého srdca za všetko ĎAKUJEME!!!

 

 

 

 

 

We don't even know how, but our one-week stay in Portugal is slowly but surely coming to an end. On Friday evening, the students and teachers prepared a wonderful closing party for us, during which we could taste their local specialties, see something of the local culture again thanks to a beautiful dance performance, but above all we could experience a wonderful atmosphere thanks to the people who welcomed us from the very beginning very cordially. During this mobility, we again not only collected beautiful experiences, but first of all we met exceptional people who we will never forget.

Ani nevieme ako, ale náš týždňový pobyt v Portugalsku sa pomaly, ale isto chýli ku koncu. V piatok večer pre nás študenti a učitelia pripravili nádherný záverečný večierok, počas ktorého sme mohli ochutnať ich miestne špeciality, opäť vidieť niečo z tunajšej kultúry vďaka krásnemu tanečnému vystúpeniu, no predovšetkým sme mohli zažiť úžasnú atmosféru vďaka ľuďom, ktorí nás od hneď od začiatku prijali veľmi srdečne. Počas tejto mobility sme opäť nenazbierali len krásne zážitky, ale v prvom rade sme spoznali výnimočných ľudí, na ktorých nikdy nezabudneme.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the revolution that ended the dictatorship of A. Salazar in Portugal, on Friday morning we took part in a march for freedom and democracy with all the students from the school with which we cooperated in the project.

"Sloboda je ako zdravie: jej dôležitosť si uvedomíme, až keď ju začneme strácať." (V. Lourenço). 

Pri príležitosti 50. výročia revolúcie, ktorá ukončila diktatúru A. Salazara v Portugalsku, sme sa v piatok doobeda so všetkými študentmi zo školy, s ktorou sme v rámci projektu spolupracovali, zúčastnili pochodu za slobodu a demokraciu. 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon on Thursday we went to the picturesque town of Viano do Castelo to visit a hospital ship that was intended to help fishermen, but today it is permanently moored in the harbor and serves as a museum.

Vo štvrtok poobede sme sa vybrali do malebného mestečka Viano do Castelo, aby sme navštívili nemocničnú loď, ktorá bola určená na pomoc rybárom, ale dnes už natrvalo kotví v prístave a slúži ako múzeum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Thursday we took part in a beautiful welcoming ceremony in the square in Esposende, which was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the struggle for freedom and democracy. April 25th is a public holiday in Portugal when the citizens celebrate the end of the authoritarian regime and the beginning of the Portuguese Revolution. The whole city of Esposende was therefore decorated with red carnations, which are supposed to symbolize freedom and peace. Right after the coup, Portuguese soldiers marched with red carnations in the barrels of their weapons, declaring their resistance to continue firing their weapons.

Vo štvrtok sme sa zúčastnili krásneho uvítacieho ceremoniálu na námestí v Esposende, ktorý sa konal pri príležitosti 50. výročia boja za slobodu a demokraciu. 25. apríl je v Portugalsku štátnym sviatkom, ktorým občania oslavujú koniec autoritárskeho režimu a začiatok portugalskej revolúcie. Celé mesto Esposende preto bolo vyzdobené červenými karafiátmi, ktoré majú symbolizovať slobodu a mier. Hneď po prevrate totiž portugalskí vojaci pochodovali s červenými karafiátmi v hlavniach svojich zbraní, čím prehlasovali svoj odpor ďalej strieľať zo svojich zbraní.

 

 

On Wednesday morning, full of expectations, we boarded the bus and went to Porto. We admired the beautiful architecture of this city and also visited the Military Museum, which offers a collection of weapons, military equipment and artillery.

V stredu ráno sme plní očakávaní nasadli do autobusu a odviezli sme sa do približne 50 km vzdialeného Porta. Obdivovali sme nádhernú architektúru tohto mesta a navštívili sme aj Vojenské múzeum, ktoré ponúka zbierku zbraní, vojenského vybavenia a delostrelectva.

 

 

 

As early as Tuesday morning, all students started working again in groups, in which they were supposed to create a new law applicable within the European Union. Since the main theme of the project is democracy and education for active citizenship, the students in individual groups tried to compile and then present a draft law that they consider necessary to enforce in individual countries of the European Union.

Hneď v utorok doobeda totiž všetci študenti začali pracovať opäť v skupinách, v ktorých mali vytvoriť nový zákon uplatniteľný v rámci Európskej únie. Keďže hlavnou témou projektu je demokracia a výchova k aktívnemu občianstvu, študenti sa v jednotlivých skupinách snažili zostaviť a následne odprezentovať návrh zákona, ktorý považujú za potrebné presadiť v jednotlivých krajinách Európskej únie.

On Monday, the first day of mobility, the choir of Portuguese students surprised us with a singing performance, after which we went for a short walk around the town. We stopped at the city hall, where we were welcomed by the head of the department of education, culture and sports, who introduced us the city and the activities that are traditionally organized there.

After the lunch break, all the students were divided into six groups in which they set out on a journey to learn about the culture and history of Esposende. Individual teams competed with each other and tried to pass all the 10 prepared checkpoints as soon as possible. At each of them, they answered a quiz question via a mobile app, and when they answered correctly, they could continue. All the teams managed the nearly two-hour walk and at the last stop at the school they were received a sweet reward in the form of local sweet specialties. For the rest of the day, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved rest so they could prepare for the next day.

V pondelok, prvý deň mobility, nás zbor portugalských študentov prekvapil na úvod speváckym vystúpením, po ktorom sme sa vybrali na krátku prechádzku po mestečku. Zastavili sme sa na mestskej radnici, kde sa nám prihovoril vedúci odboru školstva, kultúry a športu, ktorý nám predstavil mesto a aktivity, ktoré sa v ňom tradične organizujú.

Po obedňajšej prestávke boli všetci študenti rozdelení do šiestich skupín, v ktorých sa vydali na cestu za spoznávaním kultúry a histórie Esposende. Jednotlivé tímy medzi sebou súťažili a snažili sa čo najskôr prejsť všetkých 10 pripravených stanovíšť. Na každom z nich odpovedali na kvízovú otázku cez mobilnú aplikáciu, a keď odpovedali správne, mohli pokračovať ďalej. Všetkým tímom sa takmer dvojhodinovú prechádzku podarilo zvládnuť a na poslednej zastávke v škole ich čakala sladká odmena v podobe tunajších sladkých špecialít. Po zvyšok dňa si tak všetci užili zaslúžený odpočinok, aby sa mohli prichystať na nasledujúci deň.

 

 

The weekend ends on Sunday, but for us, this day was just the beginning of the adventure journey in the Portuguese town of Esposende. In the morning we flew to Porto, from where our Slovak students together with students from Greece moved directly to Esposende, where their host families were already waiting for them. It was not only the warm welcome that put a smile on our faces, but also the beautiful sunny weather, which we believe we will enjoy for the rest of our stay.

Nedeľou sa síce víkend končí, ale pre nás sa týmto dňom len začala cesta za dobrodružstvom v portugalskom mestečku Esposende. V doobedňajších hodinách sme prileteli do Porta, odkiaľ sa naši slovenskí študenti spolu so študentmi z Grécka presunuli priamo do Esposende, kde ich už čakali ich hosťujúce rodiny. Úsmev na tvári nám nevyčarilo len milé privítanie, ale aj krásne slnečné počasie, ktoré si, veríme, budeme užívať aj po zvyšok nášho pobytu.
