          Cyprus 22.02.2026 – 01.03.2026

          Naša návšteva Cypru v rámci programu Erasmus Mobility sa práve začala. V prvý deň študenti strávili čas so svojimi hostiteľskými rodinami, oslávili Veľkú noc, ochutnali morské špeciality, hrali spoločenské hry a spoznávali okolie svojho dočasného nového domova.

          Dnes sme navštívili školu, kde pre nás pripravili širokú škálu aktivít a ochutnávku miestnych špecialít. Študenti hrali typické cyperské hry so svojimi kamarátmi a naučili sa tradičný tanec. Keďže sa v škole nachádza aj skupina z mobility zo Španielska, študenti majú možnosť nadviazať nové kontakty a priateľstvá.

          Študenti z jednotlivých krajín pripravili krásne prezentácie o svojich školách a krajinách.

          Popoludní sme sa presunuli do centra Nikózie, jediného hlavného mesta EÚ rozdeleného na dve časti patriace dvom štátom. Horká príchuť minulosti bola cítiť nielen v pohraničných oblastiach „mŕtvej zóny“, ale aj v srdciach miestnych obyvateľov. Na radnici nás privítal predstaviteľ miestnej samosprávy a oboznámil nás s históriou ostrova, ktorá dodnes rezonuje. Po získaní nezávislosti v roku 1960 bola časť Cypru násilne obsadená tureckými vojskami v roku 1974. Vojská sa zastavili v srdci Nikózie. Medzi dvoma nepriateľskými územiami dodnes vidno a cítiť obrovskú jazvu v podobe mŕtvej zóny, ktorá sa tiahne zo severu na východ ostrova. Táto oblasť je prísne strážená vojakmi z oboch strán, ako aj jednotkami OSN.

          Dnes sme mali možnosť nazrieť cez hlavne zbraní a ostnaté drôty do deštruktívnej minulosti ostrova, čo v nás zanechalo zmiešané pocity…

          Cyperskí hostitelia pripravili pre svojich priateľov aj hru „hľadanie pokladu“, prostredníctvom ktorej spoznávali Nikóziu a jej historické pamiatky.

          Dnešný deň bol plný aktivít, zážitkov, nových poznatkov a momentov na zamyslenie.

          🌿 Capo Greco – Národný lesný park

          Dnes sme navštívili národný park na juhovýchode ostrova. Prednášajúci v múzeu nám s nadšením rozprávali o flóre a faune tohto krásneho, no zároveň krehkého ekosystému. Vidieť na vlastné oči niekoľkotisícročné kosti malého hrocha, ktorý dosahoval maximálnu výšku len pol metra, zavesenú kostru delfína, ktorý uhynul kvôli obrovskému množstvu plastov v žalúdku, ako aj exponáty rôznych zvierat, bolo naozaj fascinujúce.

          Po návšteve laboratória, kde študenti pozorovali štruktúru mušlí a lastúr pod mikroskopom, sme sa presunuli na pláž. Študenti zbierali mušle a odpad pomocou špeciálnych nástrojov. Odborníci z múzea im následne vysvetlili pôvod ich nálezov, ako aj význam triedenia odpadu a environmentálnej udržateľnosti.

          Dnešok bol plný zaujímavých aktivít a vďaka Erasmus mobilite sme sa dozvedeli množstvo dôležitých a podnetných informácií.

          V piatok sme sa v hostiteľskej škole zúčastnili mnohých aktivít a workshopov zameraných na ľudské práva a udržateľnosť a popoludní študenti preukázali svoju kreativitu na hodinách umenia a kultúry.

           

           

          Erasmus Mobility

          Cyprus 22.02.2026 – 01.03.2026

          Our visit to Cyprus through the Erasmus Mobility program has just begun. On the first day, the students spent time with their host families, celebrated Easter, tasted seafood delicacies, played board games, and explored the surroundings of their temporarily new home.

          Today we visited the school, where a wide range of activities and a tasting of local specialties were prepared for us. The students played typical Cypriot games with their friends and learned a traditional dance. Since a mobility group from Spain is also present at the school, the students have the opportunity to establish new contacts and friendships.

          Students from the participating countries prepared wonderful presentations about their schools and their countries.

          In the afternoon, we headed to the center of Nicosia, the only EU capital divided into two parts belonging to two countries. The bitter taste of the past could be felt not only in the border areas of the “dead zone,” but also in the hearts of the local people. At the city hall, we were welcomed by a local authority and introduced to the island’s history, which still resonates today. After gaining independence in 1960, part of Cyprus was violently occupied by Turkish forces in 1974. The troops stopped in the heart of Nicosia. Between the two hostile territories, a huge scar in the form of the dead zone can still be seen and felt, stretching from the north to the east of the island. This area is heavily guarded by soldiers from both sides as well as by the UN.

          Today we had the opportunity to look through barrels and barbed wire into the island’s destructive past, which left us with mixed feelings…

          The Cypriot hosts also prepared a “treasure hunting” game for their friends to explore Nicosia and its historical landmarks.

          Today was a day full of activities, experiences, lessons learned, and moments for reflection.

          Capo Greco – National Forest Park

          Today we visited the national park in the southeast of the island. The lecturers in the museum enthusiastically told us about the flora and fauna of this beautiful yet fragile ecosystem. Seeing with our own eyes several-thousand-year-old bones of a small hippopotamus reaching a maximum height of only half a meter, the suspended skeleton of a dolphin that died due to the enormous amount of plastic in its stomach, as well as exhibits of various animals, was truly fascinating.

          After visiting the laboratory, where students observed the structure of shells and seashells under a microscope, we headed to the beach. The students collected shells and litter using special tools. Museum experts then explained the origin of their findings as well as the importance of waste separation and environmental sustainability.

          Today was full of interesting activities, and thanks to the Erasmus mobility we learned many important and engaging facts.

          On Friday, we took part at the host school in numerous activities and workshops focused on human rights and sustainability, and in the afternoon the students demonstrated their creativity during the art and culture class.
